Caramel Mud Cake
The recipe on this little gem called for white chocolate in the recipe, since I didn't have any on hand I used dark chocolate. The taste is fantastically caramel and very mud cake like in texture. This recipe is from the AWW Cupcakes, Cheesecakes and Cookie recipe book which is wonderfully & creatively photographed.

Johnny's Birthday

How did I forget?
Well I totally forgot that this Saturday my little boy is turning 2! How did I miss that, I thought I had another week up my sleeve. So this has got me in a mild panic considering I haven't therefore thought about what cake I'm making him. So I questioned Owen last night and we decided that Johnnys two favourite things in the world are cars and cake. Easy!
I did a search on the internet and found some inspiration (and some laughs). Watch this space....it will certainly involve cars. I've chucked in some pictures below which I thought were quite cool.
There are some crazy talented people out there I could spend hours and hours of my day trawling the internet looking at cakes.

Spongebob Cake
I made this cake after 4 days lounging around the house like a useless blob watching my washing pile get larger and larger. No thanks to all the bugs going around and the kids picking up every single one of them!! I tell you this so you can forgive my wobbly lines.
Luckily for my wonderful hairdresser and her daughter I recovered in time...this one was for Abbie's 8th Birthday.

Happy Birthday Liz!
Well its a fabulous day because it's a day off work and school for everyone, it's the first day of winter (officially) and it's a cloudless blue sky (but INCREDIBLY cold) and it is also the Queens birthday. Well not her actual birthday but we are just so pleased to have a 3 day weekend really so who cares.
Katie at the age of 4 believes everyone should have a party when its a birthday and today is no exception so we henceforth embarked on some cookie baking, roast pork eating and a whopping big yummy chocolate cake that mum made. Jolly good show!
